Telenor To Charge 10 Paisa For Balance Inquires From 1st September



According to an announcement made at Telenor’s official website, Telenor will charge 10 Paisa + tax for all balance inquires from 1st September made at *444#, *222# or *111# . If we add the tax, you will be charged around 13 paisas per balance inquiry.

In the official news release, the company declared the reason of this charging is to provide better services to their valued customers. As we saw in the past that the 5% additional service charge imposed was followed by all companies. So, we should expect all the Telecom companies to follow this trend one after another. Keep in mind Zong has already sent a reminder to its customers about charging of same 10 paisa + tax per balance inquiry.

Telenor’s official site made the following announcement today mid night:
“In order to provide better services to our valued customers, Balance check Inquiry request on *444#, *222# and *111# will be charged @ 10 paisa + tax. The said charging would be applicable on all Pre-Paid Price Plans from 1st September 2009 onwards.”

It would be interesting to see Pakistani people doing balance calculations on their own in diaries or mobile phone notes to save this 10 Paisa + tax per inquiry charge :)
