Private TV channels are buzzing and humming with the fecilitation messages by different minister and obviously the tab will be paid by the respective ministry. Prime time long musical ads are clamoring and celebrating the one year since Pakistan has been crowned by the international guaranters with Asif Ali Zardari.

We didn’t see such celebrations when the one year to government completed or when the first birthday of 18th Feb came or when one year got completed for the oath of premier Yousuf Raza Gilani. But as the one year of Zardari term comes to an end, there is no shortage of laurels on government expense.

This is the mythology which is repeated by every Pakistani ruler; military or civilian and this one is no exception. This is the surefire way to get public wrath in a jiffy. With no achievement and with no feathers in the cap, these ads are like adding insult to the mass injury.
